As with all outdoor activities, there is an element of risk, but at Skern Adventure this is carefully managed to ensure it remains at a very acceptable level. We are regularly inspected by a range of external bodies, including the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority, Paddle UK, the RYA, the Health & Safety Executive, local education authorities, and our insurers. In addition, we carry out regular risk assessments across all activities and wider site operations, including fire safety, catering, accommodation, and security. This thorough approach ensures a safe and well-managed environment for all visitors

Comfortable clothing and suitable footwear are recommended so visitors can move safely and easily. All specialist equipment is provided, and our instructors will guide groups through everything they need to know on the day.

Food is not included as standard with Appledore Adventure Club bookings, but you can add a packed lunch for just £6 per day when booking. If you don't choose the lunch add-on, please ensure your child brings a packed lunch, plenty of drinks and any snacks they may need to keep them fuelled for a full day of outdoor adventure.

Every Appledore Adventure Club session is led by experienced, qualified Skern Adventure instructors who are passionate about helping children build confidence, learn new skills and have fun in a safe environment. All activities are fully supervised, with sessions tailored to the age and ability of the group, so every child is supported, encouraged and able to get the most from their adventure.
